Kabeji ya kichina kwa miaka mingi ilikuwa inalimwa na kuliwa sana katika nchi za China, India na Japani. Ikijulikana kwa majina ya common choy, pak choy na gai choy au Indian mustard.

Miaka ya karibu mboga hii ya majani imepata umaarufu katika nchi yetu na hulimwa kwa ajili ya kuboresha lishe na kama zao la biashara, lijulikanavyo katika maeneo mengi kwa kifupi kama chainizi.
