TERMS OF REFERENCE FOR THE RECRUITMENT OF DATA ENUMERATORS
FOR THE END OF PHASE EVALUATION OF THE MKULIMA MBUNIFU (MKM)
PROJECT
ADVERTISEMENT FOR THE VACANCIES OF DATA ENUMERATORS
Mkulima Mbunifu (MkM) a Project implemented under the Sustainable Agriculture
Tanzania (SAT) in partnership with Biovision Africa Trust (BvAT), seeks to recruit
competent and highly motivated Data Enumerators for the end of phase evaluation of
Mkulima Mbunifu Project interventions in selected Districts in Tanzania. The data
collectors will be supervised by the Project Manager – Mkulima Mbunifu (MkM).
Mkulima Mbunifu ( one of the projects of the Farmer Communication Programme) is a
farmer information service based in Arusha, and has been producing monthly farmer
magazines since July 2011 with funding support from Biovision Foundation of
Switzerland. The farmer magazine is distributed in regions of Arusha, Manyara,
Kilimanjaro, Tanga and Singida and provide information to smallholder farmers to equip
them with knowledge and skills on sustainable agriculture technologies and practices.

The purpose of the evaluation
The overall objective of the evaluation is to determine the impact and outcome results of
MkM among the target beneficiaries in Tanzania.
The specific objectives are:
1. Assess the extent of adoption of ecological sustainable agriculture (ESA) practices
among the smallholder farmers who have been reached through the MkM project.
2. Evaluate the economic impact from farming activities by smallholder farmers who
have embraced ESA practices.
3. Determine productivity levels among the smallholder farmers who have benefited
from MkM project
4. Assess the awareness and knowledge levels on agroecology by different MkM
project beneficiaries.

Duration of the evaluation.
The evaluation will be carried out from mid-November running through to mid-December
2022. The data collection will be preceded by a residential training of the selected
enumerators.
Requirements
The minimum requirements for the ideal candidates for this assignment are:
• A Bachelor’s degree preferably in agricultural, biological or environmental
sciences.
• Proven experience in data collection using online data collection tools such as
Kobo Collect.
• Impressive competences in IT.
• Have a functional smartphone.
• Be willing to travel within the project areas.
• Good communication skills.
